Here I am
Trying to decide where to even start. It seems that is pretty much the story of my getting into this venture. I have gone for months with a goal but took forever to reach it. I start reading a website, I see links and click them and end up all over the place. Does that happen to you?
So I then bookmark all these sites, I have so many folders, most probably have the same bookmarks in them since I started trying to organize them-(didn’t work). Then I started putting folders in my email-that didn’t work either.
Next I just deleted a bunch of bookmarks. I gave up. Way too much information overload.
So, the first thing I can say to you is, if you are starting out and looking for information, try to stay within just a few sites. Once you start clicking all over the place some of the information you will read just gets confusing and ends up not making any sense. Most sites say the same thing in different ways, then others will tell you to do something that another site just told you not to do….talk about confusing!
Next thing is downloading things. Every site I found kept offering free downloads on how to do things. And yes I downloaded every article, every ebook. Read them all. Confused myself even more. Another mistake I made.
I am going to be honest here and share what I did and tell you alot of it was wrong. Took up way too much of my time and didn’t get me anywhere. In trying to set up a small business online there are many mistakes that can be made. And I made many of them. Unfortunately.
So as I start this blog I hope you will keep revisiting since it is new and I have alot to share, alot of information to give you that will help you on your way to starting a small business. And I hope that in doing so I will prevent your making alot of the mistakes I did, and save you alot of the time I wasted.
Basically the first few mistakes NOT to make are:
Do not assume just because you have a retail website (if you have one) that starting a totally different business is easy..Its not. It is completely different.
Do not bookmark every single site you come across. There are just too many sites out there and too many causes way to much confusion.
Do not join every newsletter or blog that you come across-I made the mistake of joining every single one. At one point I was receiving at least 100 different emails from different blogs on blogging, internet marketing, creating websites, starting affiliate marketing, and so many more. **You only need a few good sites, join those and stick with them. Once you are on your way, then go and read other sites or join others but definately not in the beginning like I did. Big mistake on my part!
So which sites are good to visit when starting your own little biz? stay tuned!
