Generating Article Ideas
If you write articles for a living, or if you use article marketing to sell your products online, you know that coming up with ideas for articles is not always so easy. You do have to keep writing those articles, though, so here are some tips for you to help you keep writing.
* Search online and see what other articles exist on the topic. Then write something similar but with your own point of view. Just seeing one other idea can help you come up with loads more. Just be sure not to copy anybody else’s work, but rather use it to come up with your own articles.
* Go to rentacoder, e-lance or other freelance sites and see what other people are asking for. Some people make their requests private and those you will not be able to see, but you can use the public requests to come up with your own ideas.
* Check out what other people are discussing in forums and blogs. Just type your topic with the word ‘forum’ into your preferred search engine and you will find out what it is that people want to know, what questions they have, and what concerns. Make sure to address those in your articles, and you can be sure that people will be interested in them.
* Ask other people. Don’t rule out the input that your friends and family can have. They’re not an inexhaustible resource, but they could have a new perspective on your writing that you may not have thought about. They also know a lot about various topics, and could spur some ideas for research.
* Consider writing about your own interests and somehow relate it to your niche. If you enjoy a topic, then you will have an easy time writing about it. For example, if your niche is about dog training but you also like baseball, you can write articles about baseball and make sure to include some information about how to get your dog to fetch a ball.
* Just like you should write about things you are interested in, you should also write about things you know. Even if it’s not your favorite topic, it might be worth writing about because people really like this kind of articles. Especially how-to articles. They are really popular these days.
* Read! It’s hard to put words out if you aren’t taking any in, and reading is one of the best ways to refuel that word bank. Blogs, magazines, news stories, books both fiction and non, and many other sources can give you the jump start you need to get going again. It’s amazing how even a few hours taken to relax and read a book can improve your writing. Feel like you don’t have the time? Remember – if you’re just staring at a blank page, you aren’t getting anything worthwhile done. Taking the time to refuel is worth it.
* Think about subscribing to Unique Article Wizard. This won’t give you new ideas, but it will allow you to get the most mileage out of your articles.
