Fortunately there is a very easy way to build a list and get a ton of targeted traffic to your site called “article marketing” and it is not as difficult as you think.

If you have your own website, writing short articles on topics that relate to your website is a great form of advertising.

At the end of every article you write, you should create what is known as a “resource” box. This resource box includes a short bio on you and your website and a link to your site that the reader can follow.

So let’s say you wrote an article that gave your reader some type of helpful information on a subject that is relevant to your website. After you have completed the article you would submit it to the thousands of article directories that may be available in your niche.

Now here’s the cool part. By adding a link back to your website in your resource box, readers will follow that link back to your site and the search engines will increase your page rank.

Another great benefit to submitting articles to article directories is that it helps to brand you as an authority on your subject. You become the guru.

If you want your readers to think of you as an authority, make sure that your article is well written and easy to follow. Your article also needs to be stuffed full with useful information.

Article marketing almost pre-qualifies your readers, as you know that they are already interested in the topic you are presenting. With this in mind, many of your readers will follow the link in your resource box to your website, so you need to be ready for them.

Now that your reader has landed on your page, have an offer, like a free ebook, available for them to join your mailing list / newsletter.

Now that they have joined your mailing list, you will be able to stay in touch them via email, providing them with even more great information, and most importantly, the great product available in their area of interest.

As you can see, article marketing not only can improve your page rank, but it can flood your website with new, and free, traffic.
